08/17/2025 – Bowie has led quite the adventurous life thus far.  He had been wandering alone for over a month until someone from Poodles and Pooch Rescue spotted him and jumped into action.  He evaded capture for a while, but she utilized the skills of a professional trapper.  There were a few close calls, but last Saturday, someone finally snared him!  After being on his own for so long, he was underweight (BCS 3.5 out of 9), covered in fleas and ticks, had nasty ears, and was suffering from skin issues.  The saddest news is that he is heartworm positive.  The vet got him cleaned up and stable, and he was released to BRAF yesterday.  He has months of care before he will be considered adoptable, but lucky for him, his fosters planned to adopt before even meeting him.  He was scared and very timid, but his foster family is sharing photos and videos, and already he is coming out of his shell!  What a difference a day makes!
