12/09/23 – Fawne has completed her heartworm treatment and is ready to find her furever family.  She would do best in a home that’s not super chaotic and busy.  She is curious and likes to be outside, but only in a familiar place.  A fenced-in backyard would be great!  She gets anxious in a busy, noisy environment, but her Foster Mom believes she can continue improving if her family works with her.

Fawne would do best in a home with another older and more confident dog to help guide her and show her how good it is to be a spoiled and loved pup.  She may get a little grumbly if she has to share the attention of her person, but as long as you remind her that you have enough love to go around, she will stop and be a perfect lady.

She is now crate-trained and doesn’t mind it as much as when she first came in.  She is a velcro dog and will follow her person around the house to assist in housekeeping and whatever else you need help with.  She likes to keep an eye on you to make sure you are safe.  She loves cuddles and snuggles, but only with those who can approach her with care and respect.  Fawne would do best in a home with no small children because she may snap if she gets scared.

She walks nicely on a leash and loves going for walks, but she needs to take it easy for a little while longer because of the heartworm treatment.  She is great at the vet’s office and loves other dogs.  She did not react when seeing cats at the vet’s office, so it is possible she may do okay with them as well.

She loves treats and is food-motivated, which makes training easy.  She is just starting to get familiar with toys, but she likes them and wants to play if you’re up for it. Fawne is a little scared of men, and earning her trust takes a little while.  Her perfect family would be patient and ready to build her confidence because she is such a sweet and loving girl with so much to offer!

08/05/2023 – Fawne might be the sweetest girl you could ever meet. Sadly, she is heartworm positive and nee

ds to start treatment once she’s spayed. While visiting the vet’s office, she was polite and respectful to every dog and person she met. She really loves small dogs and puppies.  Fawne is a calm girl who hardly ever barks. She does great with meeting new people and dogs. Foster Mom can clip her nails, clean her ears, and wipe her paws off after walking. She has not learned how to play with toys yet, and has no idea what to do with treats, fruit, and vegetables. Hopefully in time she will learn to play and enjoy treats.  She is perfectly content just hanging out or snuggling up with you. She has latched on to her Foster Mom and shadows her everywhere she goes. Mom said she is heaven on a leash, and is the easiest dog to take on a walk.

07/26/2023 – Fawne is Cheyanne’s daughter and is just as sweet and loving as her mom. She has never had a toy or bone; she didn’t even know how to accept a treat from her foster mom. It was obvious she had never worn a collar or walked on a leash. She has amazing leash manners, but if you drop the leash, she is immobilized because she has no clue what’s going on. She is in a wonderful foster home, surrounded by kids and several other dogs, where she will learn to be the fun-loving dog she is meant to be.
