11/12/2023 – We’ve learned Shelbi’s confidence soars in the company of another dog in everything from walks to car rides and going out with her people.

Shelbi was used as a breeder dog her whole life before coming into rescue. She was never socialized, so Shelbi can be unsure when meeting new people. Once she experiences kindness and trust, you will have her heart as she settles in and gets that Boxer wiggle butt going. Being in a home with another dog is a game changer for her, and she blooms having a fur buddy.

Shelbi is an easy-peasy girl who is house-trained, crate-trained and loves her family. A more laid-back home would suit her, and though she seems drawn to women, she is content with men and children.

Please consider opening your heart to this super sweet girl who deserves to live her best life filled with love as a family member.

10/10/2023 – Sweet Shelbi has finished her heartworm treatment and is now ready for adoption. She would do best in a home with another dog as she lacks confidence in herself. A fenced backyard would also be nice. Shelbi likes other dogs, kids and adults. She is housebroken and crate trained. Shelbi came from a horrible situation as she was used as a breeder dog for 6 years of her life and then discarded. She has flourished in her foster home and is now ready for her new life.

06/05/2023 – Shelbi is slowly coming out of her shell and Foster Mum says she is the sweetest, most gentle girl you could find. She was quickly house trained, crate trained and takes food very gently. Shelbi enjoys going outside with Foster Mum to explore the yard and though still unsure of people she has not met, she was very gentle with the grandchildren who recently visited and liked to sit by them while they quietly played.

Shelbi was recently spayed and had a dental but sadly she tested positive for heartworms and must go through treatment so she will not be available for adoption until mid-September.

Watch for further updates as Shelbi continues to grow more confident and embraces her new life.

05/08/2023 – Shelbi came in to rescue very scared at her change in circumstances so Foster Mum set her up in a nice big crate to give her a comfy place to feel safe and decompress in a calm environment. Shelbi sticks by FM when she goes outside to potty and with routine and patience we believe Shelbi will soon regain her confidence.

Shelbi needs complete vetting, including spay, before she will be available for adoption. Meanwhile, we will be learning more about this sweet girl so check back soon!
